psycho educational testing?

Hi,
My 7 year old son has high funtioning autism. We are interested in getting some more specific information about his ability to learn since he continues to struggle greatly in school. Has anyone had psycho educational testing done in this area? Do you know the difference between that and neuro developmental testing? This is a whole new territory for me! HELP!
