I absolutely agree Jodi! I loved this book! I could read it again 3 years later now and probably pick up something new that I have forgotten.

just finished it over vacation - wow! I was reminded so much of my own journey, it's willd. Her Jonah is so much like my Jack, it could have been about him (except that we never did the ABA program). I want to email Christina and ask her how Jonah is doing now, I am ready for a Part 2!
PS - especially relevant was the part where her husband, in court fight for a non- autism child, stated "every child deserves a chance to recover from his injuries" - our curent battle in Virginia!

This looks interesting. I am reading Daniel Isn't Talking: A Novel by Marti Leimbach (Author). I am going to start on this one too.

Chapter 39 is my favorite... clearly goes over Recovery, what it means, mother's guilt, can clear up a lot of the discussions I have seen on many boards.

Anyone finished yet? I am in the beginning still, hard to find time to read, but carry with me in case I have a few minutes somewhere. Thoughts so far?

This book came out in 2005, it is not new. This was the first book I ever read when Alex got his diagnosis. I couldn't put it down and that is when I knew I could recover Alex as well.

I ordered the book yesterday, can't wait to read and share thoughts.

I can't wait for my copy to arrive!
I have been in touch with Christina Adams, she grew up in Virginia (Scott County) and she's graciously agreed to be a supporter for HB1588!
We look forward to having her visit us in Loudoun County some day.
